Earlier this week, Ford announced that an EcoBoost racing engine would debut at this year’s 24 Hours of Daytona and now the American automaker has released a video of that powerplant heading to the dyno for some testing.

The new 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine was put on a 17G Dyno in order to prepare it for the rigors of the 24 Hours of Daytona and the United SportsCar Championship series. The American automaker hopes to prove that its EcoBoost V6 engine is capable of competing with the V8-powered race cars in the series.
